Hairy Beardtongue is a resilient, highly adaptable plant, making it an excellent addition to any home garden. With its erect hairy stems, trumpet-shaped flowers clusters, and violet-lavender bloom color, Hairy Beardtongue is quite the show stopper. The open, dainty flowers have five petals with a showy, pubescent lip that blooms from early May to late June. This native perennial is irresistible to beneficial insects, while simultaneously unpalatable to deer. And with its small stature, you're bound to find a perfect spot for it in your garden.

Conditions: Full sun to full shade; dry to moist soil
Size: 1' - 2' tall
Zone: 3 - 9
Wildlife Value: Flowers attract bumblebees, butterflies and long-tongued bees; larval host for Baltimore Checkerspot
