For the gardener with some patience and a desire for ground covers, look no further than Allegheny Pachysandra. This beautiful, semi-evergreen groundcover will creep slowly but steadily under trees, between shrubs, and beside shaded paths to form a full and textured carpet in your garden. Fragrant, white, wand-like flowers are a delight every spring - both to gardeners and hungry early season pollinators, and attractive, mottled leaves blanket the ground throughout most of the rest of the year. A slower (but undoubtedly lovelier) replacement for Japanese Pachysandra.

Conditions: Part shade to full shade; average soil
Size: 1' tall
Zone: 5 - 9
Wildlife Value: Flowers attract small bees and flies in early spring
