There are few plants that are as simple and delightful as Yellow Wood Poppy. Its golden-yellow flowers bring cheer to the woodland garden in early spring and the interesting bluish-green, lobed leaves add texture for months if the soil remains moist. Like many spring-blooming ephemerals, it relies on ants to spread its seeds, so don't be alarmed to see them hanging around!

These plants were propagated at Stoneleigh from divisions collected in the garden.

Conditions: Part shade to full shade; moist to wet soil
Size: 1' - 1.5' tall
Zone:  4 - 9
Wildlife Value: Flowers attract bumblebees and other pollinators; seeds spread by ants
